Eligible citizens of Canada and Mexico can spend 1 to 4 years working in leadership roles — including supervisor, manager, and director positions — at prestigious hotels, luxury resorts, and leading hospitality brands across the United States.

Eligibility Requirements

Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Mexico or Canada, with a valid passport.

 

Language Proficiency: Advanced English.

Education: To qualify for the Hospitality TN Visa Program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:​

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Hotel or Restaurant Management, or a closely related field, plus at least one (1) year of professional experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

 OR

  • Hold a post-secondary diploma or certificate (minimum two-year program) in Hotel or Restaurant Management, or a related field, plus at least three (3) years of professional experience in a supervisory or managerial role.​​​

Preferred: Demonstrated experience in hotel operations that aligns closely with the duties of the position you are seeking.

What We Expect From You

As an American Journey Cultural Exchange (AJ1) TN Program applicant, you agree to:​

  • Provide truthful, accurate and complete information.

  • Attend all scheduled appointments and interviews.

  • Follow program timelines and requirements.

  • Adhere to U.S. immigration laws, your employer's policies, and TN Visa regulations.

  • Maintain communication with the AJ1 team throughout the entirety of your application process, and keep AJ1 informed of any changes to your plans or circumstances.

Online Application

  • Access AJ1's Online Application, making sure to select the correct program type for your specific case.

  • Please indicate how you heard about AJ1, and complete all sections in a comprehensive and truthful manner.

  • After submitting, monitor your email address for next steps. Make sure to check your spam folder!

Pre-Selection Interview

  • You will receive an email with the date and time of your pre-selection interview with AJ1's TN Program Director, Andrea Saldivar.

  • During your interview, be prepared to discuss your experience, background and goals.

    • We suggest you take this opportunity to ask any questions related to the TN Visa, and our TN Program.

Program Deposit &
Document Verification

  • Applicants without a secured placement are required to submit a $200.00USD deposit to confirm their commitment and participation in the TN Program.

  • After your application has been accepted, and your deposit  has been submitted, you may begin uploading the required documents.

Please allow 3-4 business days for document review.

Interviews &
Placement

  • AJ1 will share your profile with eligible employers that closely align with your preferences and career objectives.

    • Please note that timelines may vary depending on available openings and your flexibility regarding location and property type.

  • Once you receive and accept a job offer, AJ1 will prepare your complete Embassy Kit.

Approval & Arrival

  • Follow the appropriate consular or port-of-entry process. If requested, AJ1 will help you prepare for your U.S. Embassy/Consulate interview.

  • Congratulations! Your TN status has been approved and you may now arrange travel plans to officially begin your new leadership role in the United States.

Memorandum of Understanding

Our application process, the scope of services we provide, and your responsibilities as a participant are clearly outlined in AJ1's TN Program Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Please note: the MOU is shared once your application is accepted, at the time the program deposit is requested. A signed MOU must be submitted along with your deposit in order to move forward.
