The J-1 Intern and Trainee programs, part of the U.S. government's BridgeUSA Exchange Visitor Program, enable organizations to hire talent from around the world.
BridgeUSA Cultural Exchange Program
The primary goals of the Internship and Trainee Cultural Exchange programs are to enhance participants' skills and knowledge through structured, guided work-based training, and to improve their understanding of American techniques and methodologies. Highly motivated and dynamic participants are available year-round under two J-1 categories:

J-1 Intern Visa: For students and recent graduates (up to 12 months)

J-1 Trainee Visa: For young professionals (up to 12 months in hospitality, up to 18 months in business/management)

APPLICATION &
DOCUMENTS
Complete the host employer application, agreement, and submit the required documents.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Collaborate with American Journey to create a detailed training or internship program, which will be used to complete the required DS-7002 form for each participant.
PARTICIPANT
SELECTION
Review prescreened resumes, conduct interviews, and hire pre-screened American Journey participants. Once the training program is finalized, we will issue the DS-2019 form, enabling participants to obtain the J-1 visa.
ARRIVE &
BEGIN
Once the visa is issued, the participant will arrive and start their program as planned, typically within 6-8 weeks after hiring. American Journey will provide ongoing support, maintaining regular communication and monitoring the program.
